Job summary

Techno Hard Surfaces Ltd. in Nova Scotia is seeking a concrete finisher to work on-site at various locations. The role involves inspecting formwork and base materials, placing concrete, and achieving precise finishes per grade requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience or ability to work with concrete finishing tasks and formwork surfaces.
• WHMIS certificate or compliance with workplace safety knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret basic drawings or specifications.

Responsibilities

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials.
• Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification.
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces.
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
