Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Career team at Mercer. This role will be based in Toronto, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Compensation Consultant, you will join a national team of 100 passionate consultants with expertise in employee and executive rewards, employee communication, talent strategy, and workforce analytics. This is a great opportunity to work with a premier client base of large, complex Canadian and global organizations, leveraging Mercer’s global network and collaborating with a broad range of industry experts.

We will count on you to:

  • Conduct research and analysis on industry and organization-specific issues, including business strategy, corporate performance, compensation, and talent management best practices.
  • Analyze client data to develop rewards and talent solutions.
  • Participate in team brainstorming to craft client recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations to various leadership levels.
  • Benchmark executive compensation for publicly traded companies.
  • Develop salary and bonus programs for non-executive employees.
  • Create role profiles and career path tools.

What you need to have:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in management consulting, total rewards, compensation, finance, HR, or accounting, or 5 years in project management, data analysis, financial modeling, and presentation design.
  • Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, with a solid Excel background.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work under tight deadlines and changing client needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Curiosity and a desire to develop new skills.

What makes you stand out?

  • Degree in BComm, HBA/MBA, MIR, or related fields, including coursework in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, HR, or accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Progress toward CHRP, CFA, or CPA designations.
