Job summary

The Métis Nation of Ontario seeks a dedicated Community Support Services Coordinator to support clients living with chronic illness and to coordinate transportation and related services. You will recruit and supervise volunteers, manage payments, maintain documentation (OHATS/Excel), and collaborate with local partners while upholding confidentiality and privacy legislation.

Qualifications

• College diploma (1–2 years) required.
• 1–3 years of experience.
• Experience working with volunteers in non-profit environment.
• 1+ years’ client services experience, including with diverse ages managing chronic illness.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead clients in a process to determine wellness plans based on immediate need.
• Assess and facilitate economic use of funds for medical transport and accommodations.
• Attend medical appointments with clients.
• Provide health education and reduce isolation through workshops/groups.
• Recruit volunteers, assign services, and manage related payments/docs.
• Coordinate Volunteer Medical Transports and/or Friendly Visits schedules; evaluate volunteers with supervisor.
• Organize an annual Volunteer Recognition Event.
• Maintain client services documentation in OHATS, data basics and Excel tracking.
