Job summary

The Developmental Disabilities Association (DDA) is seeking dedicated Community Support Workers (CSWs) in Vancouver, aiming to empower individuals with developmental disabilities through inclusive programs. Candidates should hold a related degree/diploma and have experience working with persons with disabilities. This casual/on-call position offers $25.95 – $29.76 per hour plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits, with training and a respectful work environment provided.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid/CPR certification required.
• Must safely support swim/water activities.

Term/Status: Casual / On-Call

Hourly Wage: $25.95 – $29.76 + 10.6% in lieu of benefits

What You’ll Do:

• Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging program environment
• Work alongside team members to support participants with activities of daily living
• Participate in the implementation and monitoring of individualized goal plans
• Lead engaging, person‑centered programs tailored to diverse abilities
• Provide services through on‑site, community and outreach‑based activities

Requirements/Education/Experience:

• Degree or Diploma in an area directly related to supporting people with developmental disabilities, such as Social Sciences, Human Services, Therapeutic Recreation, or Education
• 1 – 2 years of work experience with persons with disabilities
• Must be able to safely support swim/water activities in community pools – includes entry into chlorinated water
• Minimum availability of 2 shifts per week
• Criminal Record Clearance
• Medical Clearance
• Valid First Aid/CPR
• Class 5 Driver’s License and use of a vehicle for work, OR a Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s License
• Driver’s Abstract showing a good driving record
• Non‑violent Crisis Intervention Certification
• Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication
• Basic computer literacy
• Eligible to work in Canada
• Requires physical strength, good balance, mobility, and endurance for recreational activities
• Position involves assisting clients with personal care needs

Training is provided for:

Client personal care & Non‑violent Crisis Intervention Certification
