Job summary

County of Lambton’s Region 5 Libraries is seeking a Part Time Branch Assistant to deliver friendly, efficient service across multiple library locations. You will handle circulation, reference and readers' advisory duties, assist with programming, and contribute to administrative tasks to ensure a high-quality library experience for patrons.

The role requires a Two-Year College Diploma and strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to obtain a Police Vulnerable Sector

Qualifications

• Two-year college diploma or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum six months in a service-related job or previous library volunteer work.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check or Police Information Check, as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line customer service to library visitors.
• Perform circulation duties and issue library cards.
• Offer readers' advisory and reference assistance.
• Assist with programming planning and delivery.
• Perform administrative tasks and maintain records.
• Promote a welcoming library environment and assist with technology use.
