PR & Influencer Lead

Duties:

The Canadian communications team is looking for a strategic storyteller with a passion for media relations and influencer marketing with a track record in creating hard-hitting, customer‑centric stories that land in the press, and running end‑to‑end influencer campaigns that bring the business benefits of technology to life.

This position will be based in Toronto but you will work cross functionally with partners located across many of our global sites, including the US, UK and Australia. The ideal candidate has a combination of tech, corporate and/or consumer experience, with a background that ideally includes agency experience, thriving in a fast‑paced, innovative, and data‑driven environment.

We are also looking for someone who is strategic, creative, and self‑directed, eager to be part of a small but powerful team. In this role, you will focus mostly on supporting external communications for the Canadian market—including customer storytelling, strategic media relations, creative product PR, data communications and thought‑leadership campaign management, event communications, end‑to‑end influencer program management, and data reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Play a key role in the PR function in Canada and LATAM. Support and optimize the PR strategy & execution to build the brand and drive awareness and consideration among small businesses, bookkeepers and accountants.
• Develop strategic media relationships and craft ownable, compelling PR stories ensuring alignment to our company narrative for the business, brand, product innovations and customer experience.
• Drive and execute against the Canada influencer strategy, including full‑funnel, always‑on campaign development, execution and measurement.
• Collaborate on integrated delivery of media relations, internal communications, influencer programs, thought leadership content, in partnership with our social teams.
• Support and manage day‑to‑day PR and influencer agencies to execute against our communications strategy.
• Support news announcements and development of data storytelling, customer storytelling and executive thought leadership.
• Help build measurability into PR and influencer programs, glean insights and continuously improve efficiency and impact of investments.

Qualifications:

• 10+ of experience in PR, media relations, social and influencer marketing, ideally with a mix of agency and client experience.
• Prior ownership of external communications for, or on behalf, of a brand or business.
• Experience in leading end‑to‑end PR and thought leadership campaigns from concept creation to tracking, analyzing results and internal reporting to global stakeholders.
• Outstanding media relations skills and a proven track record in delivering impactful coverage for business brands.
• Solid understanding of the Canadian media landscape.
• Data‑backed. Solid understanding of PR measurement, tools and reporting for internal stakeholders.
• Ability to partner with the other members of the communications and marketing team (brand social, acquisition, brand marketing).
• Experience managing end‑to‑end influencer campaigns, with support from agency partners. Experience in B2B influencer campaigns, or strong understanding of B2B an asset.
• A deep understanding of full‑funnel metrics and showcasing impact through influencer campaigns.
• Excellent copywriting skills and experience in delivering customer‑centric communications and case study content.
• Experience in developing and managing multi‑channel, integrated communications programs for brand, reputation and product launches, that deliver high‑impact business results.
• Skilled verbal & visual storyteller. Ability to crystalize business goals, metrics and financial data into powerful narratives.
• You are data‑driven, innovative and passionate about testing new ideas to improve impact.
• Great people skills: diplomacy, integrity and presence that enables you to build strong relationships and work effectively across organizations.
• Self‑starter that can work independently. You are organized yet flexible, resilient, comfortable with ambiguity and adapt easily to change.
• Ability to work with your peers on teams around the world to continually improve our performance, share best practice and learnings.
