Job summary

Insight Global in Ottawa is seeking a motivated Commercial Lines Insurance Producer or Account Manager to generate new business, build client relationships, and deliver tailored insurance solutions across Property, Liability, Auto, Cyber, and specialty coverages.

You will prospect through networking, manage a mid-to-enterprise book, and collaborate with service teams to ensure a smooth onboarding through renewal. A valid RIBO license and industry designations are required.

Qualifications

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Commercial Lines Insurance Producer or Account Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing relationships within the local business community, and providing tailored commercial insurance solutions to clients across various markets.

The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional with strong relationship-building skills, a passion for helping businesses manage risk, and a proven ability to grow a commercial book of business.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect, develop, and secure new commercial insurance clients through networking, referrals, and community engagement.
• Identify client risks and recommend appropriate insurance solutions, including Property, Liability, Commercial Auto, Professional Liability, Cyber, and Specialty Coverages.
• Prepare and present insurance proposals, coverage comparisons, and risk management recommendations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carrier partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate with service teams to ensure a seamless client experience from onboarding through renewal.
• Stay informed on market trends, insurer appetites, and emerging commercial risks.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements.

Skills and Requirements

Must Have Qualifications

• Active RIBO license
• Proficiency with EPIC and applied systems
• 3+ years of experience in commercial insurance sales, or a related insurance role.
• Proven track record of generating new business and building long-term client relationships.
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and risk management principles.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and insurance brokerage management systems.
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for client meetings and networking events.
• CAIB, CIP, or CRM designation.
• Existing network of commercial business contacts within the Ottawa market.
• Experience selling mid-market or enterprise commercial insurance programs.
