Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Senior Manager Commercial Credit Risk to lead and coach the approval of complex commercial financing applications. You will maximize loan portfolio quality in line with strategic directions and implement monitoring strategies to ensure profitability and growth.

You will analyze, authorize and mentor, while actively participating in committees and driving continuous improvement across credit origination through disbursement in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Completed bachelor's or master's degree in administration, accounting or a related field.
• Seven to ten years of relevant experience in complex commercial financing.
• Experience in portfolio tracking and strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of commercial financial products and services.
• Proven track record as a team leader implementing credit initiatives or large projects.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyze, authorize or recommend complex commercial financing applications per policies and risk appetite.
• Anticipate and identify transaction risks and mitigate them.
• Collaborate in a team to meet short turnaround times and optimize lender relationships.
• Coach account managers and participate in committees and special mandates.
• Oversee loan portfolios from origination to disbursement and drive process improvements.
