Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Director of Commercial Banking in Vancouver to drive growth of a business client portfolio. You will identify opportunities, develop strategies, and propose the best mix of bank products to help clients reach financial goals.

You will build client relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure profitability while coordinating with Financing Solutions and other departments. Training and leadership support are provided for ongoing development.

Qualifications

• At least 5–9 years of sales and business development experience in the financial industry
• University certificate plus 9 years of experience, or Bachelor's with 7 years, or Master's with 5 years
• Experience in sales, business development, analysis of financial statements, and commercial credit

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop business opportunities in your market and establish business development strategies
• Propose financial strategies using a mix of bank products and services to help clients achieve objectives
• Meet changing client needs by adapting products and approaches
• Negotiate terms and conditions with clients ensuring risk standards and profitability
• Draw up business development plans
• Assist the Regional Vice-President in reaching objectives
• Collaborate with Financing Solutions and other departments
• Participate in networking events and industry functions
• Manage and grow a Vancouver-region client portfolio
