The Business Office is an established team of administrative and financial staff who provide essential support to the day-to-day operations of Okanagan Correctional Centre. The team works across accounts payable, payroll, inmate trust accounting, and other administrative functions, working closely with correctional staff, supervisors and management throughout the centre. The variety of work provides opportunities to develop knowledge across several areas, and the team’s work helps ensure employees, vendors and individuals in custody receive accurate and timely financial and administrative services.
The incumbent in this position as required may rotate through a variety of tasks in support of the business office including entering invoices for payment, collecting monies, entering leave management transactions for employees, and providing trust account services to incarcerated inmates. This position may perform various other duties such as providing administrative support to the Purchasing Officer, Switchboard, and Sentence Management Unit as and when required.
