Job summary

Vision Group is seeking a part-time Customer Service role in Victoria, BC. The clinic offers a supportive culture and a Great Place to Work certification. The wage range is $19.55–$22.48 per hour with a permanent part-time schedule (~20–32 hours/week, 2–4 days).

You will assist in pre-op exams, answer patient questions, coordinate with Optometrists, and manage appointments, with cross-training for receptionist duties. Benefits include insurance, RRSP match, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• You must have excellent English communication skills (written & oral).
• Healthcare experience is an asset.
• Comfortable with computers and technology.
• Ability to connect with others and build trust.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training.
• Flexible schedule Weds–Sat; 7:30 AM–4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Assist during pre-op exams and fill patient charts accurately.
• Answer patients' questions and provide the best service.
• Work closely with Optometrists.
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative tests for patients.
• Update the appointment system after consultations.
• Schedule and confirm post-operative appointments by phone.
• Receive cross-training for Receptionist role after initial training.
• Support Risk Management by reporting safety concerns to clinic management.

The wage range for this role is between $19.55 - $22.48/hr.

Your tasks at a glance

• You assist during the pre-op exams and fill the patient’s charts accurately.
• You answerpatient’s questions and ensure the best service.
• You work closely with Optometrists.
• You conduct pre-operative and post-operative tests for patients.
• You updatethe appointment system after every patient’s consultation.
• You schedule and confirm post-operative appointments by telephone.
• You will also receive cross-training for the Receptionist role upon completion of your initial training.
• You support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management, to assist in the organization’s overall efforts to identify, report, and mitigate risks.

• You are comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (knowledge of EMR systems is an asset).
• You have excellent communication skills in English (written & oral).
• You have an interest in the medical field and have a passion for delivering excellent customer service.

• Your experience in the health care field is considered an asset (ex: medical assistant, physiotherapy assistant, optometry assistant, orderly, dental assistant, pharmacy lab technician, sterilization assistant, animal health technician assistant, veterinary assistant, etc.).
• You are looking for a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where your ability to work in a team and excel at multi-tasking will be an asset.
• Schedule:You have flexible availability between Wednesday to Saturday between 7:3 0 AM – 4:30 PM (2-4 days p/week) .
