Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is seeking a Climbing Arborist to work in the field, often in the canopy, performing hands‑on tree and vegetation management.

You will directly interact with the public and apply expert knowledge to complete tasks safely and on time, with year‑round, full‑time employment and strong benefits. Training and career advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Must safely ascend tree canopies at various heights.
• Minimum 1 year of climbing experience.
• Certified Arborist or willingness to work towards certification.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; 5-ton license and Airbrake endorsement considered an asset.
• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping.

Responsibilities

• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood in the canopy.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Assist trimmers and foreperson with job site setup, debris removal and cleanup.
• Follow Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.
