Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited in Severn, Ontario seeks a Climbing Arborist. The role is field-based, with canopy work and hands-on tree and vegetation management. You will interact with the public and apply your expert knowledge to ensure quality work.

You will perform pruning, install cables and lightning protection, and operate tools including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts, while following Davey safety policies. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Understanding and implementation of the process of safely ascending tree canopies at all heights.
• Minimum 1 year of climbing experience and ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Certified Arborist or willingness to work towards certification.

Responsibilities

• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood in the canopy of the trees at various heights.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Assist the trimmers and foreperson in job site setup, debris removal and cleanup.
• Abide by safety policies and procedures.
