Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is seeking a Climbing Arborist in Pickering, Ontario. The role is field-based and requires hands-on tree and vegetation management with direct interaction with the public.

You will work in the canopy and in varied heights to ensure timely and quality work. We offer year-round, full-time employment with competitive hourly pay ($21–$27) and comprehensive benefits. Training, RRSP/TFSA, stock purchases after 6 months, and referral programs are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to ascend tree canopies safely at various heights.
• Minimum 1 year climbing experience.
• Certified Arborist or working toward certification.
• Strong identification of trees, knots, and shrubs.
• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; 5-ton driving and Airbrake asset.
• Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood in the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and aerial lifts.
• Assist trimmers and foreperson with job-site setup, debris removal and cleanup.
• Abide by safety policies and procedures.
