Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company of Canada, Limited is hiring a Climbing Arborist in Pickering, ON. You will work in the canopy with a hands-on approach to vegetation management, engaging with the public and applying expert knowledge to complete tasks safely and on schedule.

Responsibilities include canopy pruning, installing support systems, operating tools like chainsaws and aerial lifts, and assisting with site setup and cleanup.

Qualifications

• Safely ascend tree canopies at all heights.
• Minimum 1 year of climbing experience.
• Strong ability to identify trees, knots, and shrubs.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; 5-ton license and Airbrake endorsement are plus.

Responsibilities

• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood in tree canopies at various heights.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Assist crew with job site setup, debris removal and cleanup.
• Follow Davey safety policies and industry procedures.
