Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is seeking a Climbing Arborist in Carp, Ontario. The role is field-based, involving canopy work, pruning, cabling, and vegetation management with a hands-on approach.

Requirements include at least 1 year of climbing experience, either a Certified Arborist or willingness to work toward certification, and a valid Ontario driver’s license. Lifting 50 lbs and a forestry or landscaping background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of climbing experience.
• Certified Arborist or willingness to pursue certification.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; 5-ton license and Airbrake endorsement considered an asset.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood in the canopy.
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Assist the trimmers and foreperson with job site setup and cleanup.
• Abide by Davey safety policies and procedures.
