Job summary

Intact is seeking a Customer Service Representative, Claims to join a growing team in a hybrid work environment across multiple Canadian locations, including St. John’s and Dieppe. The role requires handling inbound claims calls, applying policy knowledge, and delivering empathetic, accurate service.

Starting date and on-site requirements vary by probation, with a transition to fewer on-site days over time. A CIP designation is encouraged as part of ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Customer service and sales experience preferred.
• Insurance experience is considered an asset.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, resourceful and resilient.
• Flexible to work 35 hours a week during business hours.

Responsibilities

• Be a subject matter expert on policies, products and initiatives.
• Answer inbound claims calls and inquiries, applying knowledge to move requests forward.
• Document files accurately to reflect conversations and actions taken on claims.
• Handle difficult conversations with empathy and clarity about policy and coverage.
• Meet daily call centre metrics while handling high call volumes.
• Provide quality customer service with low hold times and clear file documentation.
• Manage multiple tasks amid changing priorities and deadlines.
• Adapt to a fast-evolving environment with potential ad hoc duties.
