Job summary

Intact is seeking a bilingual Customer Service Representative, Claims, to join our growing team in Canada. This full-time role requires French and English, on-site presence, and delivering exceptional service to policyholders while handling inbound inquiries and claims.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a 3‑days-per-week on-site requirement during the probationary period and then 2 days per week thereafter.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (French & English) mandatory.
• Customer service and sales experience preferred.
• Insurance experience is an asset.
• Self-motivated, resourceful and resilient.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be a subject matter expert on policies, products, services and initiatives.
• Answer inbound calls and process new claims with accurate documentation.
• Document files clearly reflecting conversations and actions.
• Handle conversations with empathy and clarity regarding policy and coverage.
• Maintain daily call center metrics with high call volume while delivering quality service.
• Log interactions in the system with concise notes.
• Adapt to changing priorities and time-sensitive deadlines.

Salary range (but not limited to)

43,600 - 53,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance)

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35‑hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We’re looking for a Bilingual Customer Service Representative , Claims to join our growing team!

• This role is located in St. John’s, NL/Dieppe, NB/Dartmouth, NS.
• Start date: November 5th 2026
• Bilingual mandator y : French & English
• In office requirement: 3 days per week during the probationary period. After this period, the requirement will transition to 2 days per week on‑site.
• Working schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Mandatory: Willing to complete the CIP designation

What you’ll do here:

• Be a subject matter expert on our policies, products, services, and initiatives.
• Answer inquiry and new claims calls on an inbound queue while applying your knowledge, problem‑solving skills and making on‑the‑spot decisions to move requests forward.
• Accurately and clearly document files to reflect conversations and actions taken on claims.
• Willingness to initiate difficult conversations with empathy and clarity regarding policy, insurance coverage, or operational challenges.
• Ensure that daily call centre metrics are met while taking a high volume of inbound calls.
• Provide quality customer service, maintaining low hold times, and documenting files in a clear and concise manner.
• Execute multiple tasks aligning with changing priorities and time‑sensitive deadlines
• This is a fast‑evolving environment, and other ad hoc duties could be assigned to you.

• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
