Job summary

Intact is seeking a Property Claims Consultant in the Specialty Lines team to handle Entertainment Property Damage and related energy and equipment breakdown claims. You will investigate complex files, communicate with insureds and brokers, and negotiate settlements in line with policy terms and company procedures.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: 118,700 - 145,100 per year (based on a 35‑hour workweek). Annual bonus target up to 15% of base salary, with the potential payout of up to double the target based on personal and company performance. Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) with Intact matching 50% of net shares. Pension benefits provide a defined benefit plan that offers guaranteed income for life. About the Role

As a Property Claims Consultant in the Specialty Lines team, you will handle Entertainment Property Damage claims from our Entertainment Program. You may also handle traditional and renewable Energy Commercial Property claims and Equipment Breakdown claims, including those from our Global Network.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and evaluate complex property, including Entertainment Property Damage and Equipment Breakdown, to determine coverage and liability.
  • Conduct thorough and timely investigations, gathering and analyzing relevant information and documentation.
  • Communicate with policyholders, brokers, and other parties to gather information and provide claim status updates.
  • Negotiate and settle claims in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Attend mediations and trials as required.
  • Use knowledge of insurance contracts and industry standards to determine appropriate coverage and settlement amounts.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed claim files with documentation of all activities and decisions.
  • Leverage expertise in a creative, continuous‑improvement environment to support best‑practice operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective claims handling.
  • Identify and investigate potential fraudulent claims and take appropriate action.
  • Deliver and exceed key performance indicators related to loss development, claim leakage control, and expense management.
  • Stay current with industry trends, legal and regulatory changes.
  • Provide excellent customer service to insureds and brokers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced adjusters on complex or high‑value claims.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  • Represent the company professionally and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
