Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation in Canada seeks a Senior Claims Adjuster, Property to grow our Complex Claims Team across Mississauga, Ajax and Ottawa offices. The role focuses on investigating and settling personal and commercial property claims with emphasis on condo and commercial lines, guided by best practices and cost controls.

We offer a comprehensive compensation package including a 10% annual bonus with potential payout up to double the target, a defined benefit pension, and Employee Share

Responsibilities

• Investigate, manage and settle personal and commercial property claims on the Complex Claims Team.
• Direct handle all condominium assessment claims.
• Direct handle lower severity commercial specialty program claims.
• Examine out of province commercial and personal claims.
• Utilize Best Practices to ensure claim management and regulatory requirements are followed.
• Conduct analysis of coverages and quantum.
• Manage indemnity and expenses by following reserving practices and proactive claim progression.
• Provide high quality servicing to internal and external customers.
• Work with Brokers on claim resolution and inquiries.
• Ensure timely follow up with customers on status of their claim and address escalations.
• Assign and direct activities of independent adjusters when required.
• Identify, assign and manage expert involvement on claims; mindful of claim cost control measures.
• Settle claims expeditiously in a fair and reasonable manner.
• Validate damages.

Salary range (but not limited to):

80,700 - 98,700

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

What you’ll do here:
