Job summary

The Junior Claims Adjuster, Physical Damage at CAA Club Group handles automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and RV claims in the Atlantic region. You’ll investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims from low to moderate complexity, while maintaining accurate reserving and professional communication.

Required: post-secondary education or equivalent, CIP or in progress, 1–3 years in casualty claims, provincial licensing, and strong organizational skills. Fluency in English; French is an asset.

Position Details

The Junior Claims Adjuster, Physical Damage is responsible for handling of automobile, long haul trucking, motorcycle, and recreational vehicle physical damage claims from the Atlantic region. The claims are of varying low to moderate complexity and the successful candidate will have a dynamic personality and the ability to excel in a high performance environment. The Junior Claims Adjuster ensures claims are properly investigated, evaluated, and resolved in a timely manner.

What You Will Do

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate personal/commercial lines claims of low to moderate complexity
• Manage challenging coverage claims with tact and professionalism
• Timely, accurate reserving in line with Corporate protocols and guidelines
• Maintain control over expenses through pro-active handling techniques
• Direct vendor partners as necessary
• Obtain approval from Manager on claims above authority
• Manage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre-trials and settlement conferences
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Unit Manager

Salary range is not inclusive of total compensation.The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. Who You Are

• Completed post-secondary education or equivalent experience
• CIP or working towards designation
• Minimum of 1-3 years experience handling casualty claims or related experience
• Active provincial licensing is required
• Strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills
• Ability to understand insurance contracts in various jurisdictions
• Knowledge of principles and practices of claims settlement, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issues
• Ability to cross-reference information with attention to detail
• Strong general computer knowledge required
• Fluent in English and French would be an asset
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
