Civil Project Coordinator

Kamloops, British Columbia | Seasonal | $60,000.00-$70,000.00/year

Dawson Civil is looking for a Project Coordinator with a team-oriented mindset who can work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

As a Project Coordinator at Dawson Civil, you will support project operations and ensure smooth execution from start to finish. This is a seasonal, full-time position reporting directly to the Project Manager. You will collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality deep and shallow utility projects. The base location is Kamloops, British Columbia, with travel throughout the province.

What Success Looks Like

1. Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination for timely and cost-effective completion.
2. Monitor project progress, track key deliverables, and report on performance.
3. Maintain project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and reports.
4. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to timelines.
5. Conduct site visits to monitor work quality, safety, and progress.
6. Support estimating and procurement efforts, including quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and sourcing.
7. Ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulations.
8. Assist in preparing and negotiating change orders and claims.
9. Facilitate communication among teams, clients, and stakeholders to address challenges.

What You Bring

1. Engineering Degree, Civil Engineering Technology diploma, or related field (asset).
2. 3-5 years of civil construction experience in project coordination, estimating, or field engineering.
3. Understanding of construction methodologies, scheduling, and cost control; experience with estimating software (preferably HCSS).
4. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
5. Ability to anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions.
