Wilco Contractors Northwest is seeking experienced Foremen to lead crews across civil disciplines in the Edmonton area. You will guide field operations, mentor teammates, and ensure safe, high-quality project delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as construction superintendent or foreman, civil preferred.
• Strong leadership/mentorship and interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of equipment operation.
• Strong numeracy and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to read plans, read grade stakes and use laser level.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews in safe, efficient execution of construction activities.
• Participate in field construction planning, execution, quantity verification, and quality control.
• Communicate project needs to the Superintendent (manpower, materials, equipment).
• Coordinate daily work activities based on project priorities and schedules.
• Supervise the safe and effective use of equipment, tools, and machinery.
• Ensure work meets safety, efficiency, and Wilco quality standards.
• Monitor subcontractor performance for compliance with specs and schedules.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members per Wilco procedures and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead crews in the safe and efficient execution of construction activities
• Actively participate in field construction, including planning, execution, quantity verification, and quality control
• Communicate upcoming project needs to the Superintendent, including manpower, materials, and equipment requirements
• Coordinate daily work activities based on project priorities and schedules
• Supervise the safe and effective use of equipment, tools, and machinery
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Wilco's high-quality standards
• Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members in accordance with Wilco procedures and safe work practices
• Foster a positive team environment built on accountability, communication, and safety

Requirements

• Proven experience as construction superintendent or foreman, civil preferred
• Must possess strong leadership/mentorship and interpersonal skills
• Solid understanding of equipment operation
• Strong numeracy skills, record keeping and technology usage
• Ability to read and execute plans, read grade stakes and use laser level
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Work Unsupervised with a 3-5 person crew
• Have advanced knowledge of the fundamental principals of landscaping including grading, planting and hardscape
• Promote a positive team culture across all departments and job sites with a focus on safety first and continuous improvement
• Valid drivers license
