Job summary

Wilco Contractors Northwest in Edmonton is seeking skilled Excavator Operators to join our civil construction team on diverse projects across the region.

You will safely operate excavators, read grades and plans, perform inspections, and work closely with foremen and crews. Minimum 5+ years experience, CSTS and Ground Disturbance certification, valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required. • Minimum of 5+ years experience operating Excavator.
• Must hold CSTS & Ground Disturbance certification.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to interpret survey stakes and read grades and plans.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate Excavator on loading, trenching, and grading tasks.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Read grades, stakes, plans, and site instructions.
• Coordinate with Foremen, Gradepersons, Labourers, and Project Teams.
• Maintain production while ensuring quality workmanship.
• Follow safety policies and promote a positive team environment.

What You'll Do

• Safely and efficiently operate Excavator as it applies to loading trucks, cut to fill, trenching, ditching, sloping, etc.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and complete pre-trip and post-trip documentation.
• Conduct routine maintenance and identify mechanical concerns.
• Read grades, stakes, plans, and site instructions.
• Work closely with Foremen, Gradepersons, Labourers, and Project Teams.
• Maintain production while ensuring quality workmanship.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Contribute to a positive, professional team environment.

• Minimum of 5+ years experience operating Excavator.
• Experience operating multiple types of machinery is considered an asset.
• Ability to interpret survey stakes accurately.
• Physically able to meet job demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Capable of adapting to varying job site conditions and challenges.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
• CSTS & Ground Disturbance certification are a condition of employment.
