Job summary

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our growing team for a season, locally in Edmonton and surrounding area. The role focuses on hands-on outdoor construction including timber boards, bridges, docks, decks, and forms for concrete work.

You will read plans, build timber structures, install roofs and stairs, and maintain safety at the site. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years framing/finishing experience, strong knowledge of

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Carpenter with minimum 5 years framing/finishing.
  • Experience with concrete forming, framing, and structural carpentry.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-trade environment.
  • Experience constructing stairs, walls, fences, decks, or similar structures.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Good understanding of applicable construction codes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
  • A strong Safety First mindset.
  • Ability to work Monday through Saturday as required.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving abstract and reliable transportation to job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, erecting, and removing structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams, shafts, and grade beams.

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is looking for an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our growing team in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

If you're a carpenter who enjoys hands-on work, working outdoors, and seeing the finished product, this is an opportunity to put your skills to work on a variety of unique civil construction projects.

Our carpentry work goes well beyond traditional residential construction. You'll have the opportunity to work on timber boardwalks, bridges, docks, decks, concrete formwork, grade beams, framing, stairs, walls, and fences—projects that become part of the communities we build.

This is a seasonal position, Monday through Saturday, local to Edmonton and area.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Journeyman Carpenter, you'll be involved in the construction and installation of a variety of structural and finish carpentry projects, including:

  • Reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

  • Setting priorities and adapting to changing project requirements.
  • Maintaining safe working conditions and following Wilco's safety procedures.

  • Journeyman Carpenter with minimum 5 years framing/finishing.
