Job summary

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is seeking a Gradesperson to work with Operators and Foreman to interpret blueprints and ensure grades are achieved on site. The role requires strong grade checking, blueprint reading, and accurate surveying skills on civil projects.

You will measure, mark, and verify quantities, monitor elevations, and help keep the site safe and organized. A valid driver's license and teamwork mindset are essential for success in this hands-on field role.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of civil construction experience with emphasis on grade checking.
• Experience as a gradesperson or similar role in construction.
• Strong knowledge of grading procedures and earthworks.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Commitment to safety and quality in all work aspects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform grades and layout measurements using a level and tape.
• Measure and mark quantities of materials accurately.
• Provide accurate cut and fill directions.
• Monitor grade elevations to meet project specs.
• Keep a clean, organized site and assist with traffic control.
• Promote safety practices and support a positive team environment.
• Maintain accurate daily records and site notes as required.

Your days will be filled with exciting challenges as you:

• Perform grades and layout measurements to ensure accurate project implementation using a level and tape method
• Measure and mark quantities of materials
• Provide accurate cut and fill directions
• Monitor and check grade elevations throughout the day to ensure project specifications are met
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite and assist with traffic control as needed
• Champion safety practices while fostering a positive team environment
• Maintain accurate daily records and site notes as required

Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience in civil construction with a strong focus on grade checking
• Experience as a Gradesperson or in a similar role in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of grading procedures and earthworks
• Proficient in using surveying equipment and tools an asset
• Strong math skills and ability to accurately utilize on-the-fly
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Committed to safety and quality in every aspect of work
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
