Job summary

Wilco Contractors Northwest is seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our Edmonton-area team. You will safely operate skid steers, loaders, excavators, dozers, and graders on civil projects, while following site plans and instructions.

Candidates should have at least 3+ years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and CSTS/ground disturbance certification. Join a reliable, safety-focused crew with competitive wages and overtime opportunities.

• Experience operating multiple types of machinery is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment in a civil construction environment.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and complete pre-trip and post-trip documentation.
• Conduct routine maintenance and identify mechanical concerns.
• Read grades, stakes, plans, and site instructions.
• Work closely with Foremen, Gradepersons, Labourers, and Project Teams.
• Maintain production while ensuring quality workmanship.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

What You'll Do

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment in a civil construction environment.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and complete pre-trip and post-trip documentation.
• Conduct routine maintenance and identify mechanical concerns.
• Read grades, stakes, plans, and site instructions.
• Work closely with Foremen, Gradepersons, Labourers, and Project Teams.
• Maintain production while ensuring quality workmanship.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Contribute to a positive, professional team environment.

• Minimum of 3+ years experience operating heavy equipment.
• Experience operating multiple types of machinery is considered an asset.
• Ability to perform finish grading and interpret survey stakes accurately.
• Physically able to meet job demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Capable of adapting to varying job site conditions and challenges.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
• CSTS and Ground Disturbance certification are a condition of employment.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Successful candidates may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test as a condition of employment.
