Job summary

Paladin Security is hiring for a Full Time Temp Mobile Guard to provide a visible security presence at City of Brampton sites. This role entails patrols, incident reporting, access control, and rapid response to alarms and emergencies, with Continental Days 0800-2000 schedule.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Ontario Security Guard Licence, at least two years of building security experience, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (or Dual Security Guard/Private Investigator Licence).
• Minimum two (2) years of building security experience.
• Physically fit to perform duties (standing, lifting up to 20 lbs, indoor/outdoor work).
• Legally allowed to work in Canada and completion of required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and report incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazards.
• Provide alarm response, investigation, and documentation city-wide.
• Lock/unlock gates and doors; ensure security after hours.
• Attend and investigate alarms; de-escalate crises and liaise with emergency personnel.
• Write detailed incident reports and provide first aid as required.

Pay: $22.60/hr

About the Role

Mobile Patrol and Response Guards provide a uniformed security presence at various City of Brampton facilities, properties, assets, and events. Guards may conduct proactive patrols and respond to incidents at Parks, Transit facilities, Recreation facilities, Libraries, Fire facilities, Public Works facilities, and any other properties owned,operated, or managed by the City of Brampton

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and report all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazardous situations
• Provide City-wide panic and duress alarm response, investigation, and documentation
• Provide City-wide intrusion, fire, and other alarm response, investigation, and documentation
• Respond to calls for service from internal/external clients and members of the public.
• Inspect and test Security/Life Safety devices.
• Complete Hard Disk Drive (HDD) retrievals from Brampton Transit vehicles
• Provide training and support to facility, ad-hoc, and event coverage guards
• Lock and unlock gates and doors; ensure properties are secured after hours
• Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software.
• Conduct proactive patrols (interior and exterior); address policy breaches and note facility concerns.
• Unlock and lock doors and offices; provide access control.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons
• Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies ina timelyand professional manner
• De-escalate crises and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire, and paramedics
• Write detailed incident reports for all emergency and day-to-day activities
• Provide first aid and medical response asrequired
• Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (or Dual Security Guard/Private Investigator Licence)
• Minimum two (2) years of building security experience
• Physical and mental ability to fulfil the duties and requirements of the assigned work (indoor/outdoor,long periodsstanding,lifting upto 20 lbs, running short distances).
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and Ontario Fire Code
• Responding to incidents and alarm response as the “first responder”.Must be able to de-escalate, communicate withdispatchand report all occurrences accurately
• Must be comfortable working as part of a team but also working alone
• Completion of all standard required training courses (see Training Requirements)
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Valid ClassG(or higher) Ontario Driver’s Licence — a copy of the Driver’s Record must besubmittedprior to assignment and annually thereafter.(3 Year Clean Drivers Abstract)
• Successfully completed an Advanced Use of Force course including handcuffing, baton, and edged weapons defense.
• Minimum two (2) years of related experience
