Job summary

Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc. is seeking a Sous Chef for Cirque Restaurant at Lizard Creek Lodge, Fernie Alpine Resort.

Reporting to the Head Chef or manager on duty, the ideal candidate brings experience, a positive attitude, and teamwork, thriving in a fast-paced environment to deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will plan and direct food preparation, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure safety, sanitation, and high standards of service in a dynamic F&B team.

Qualifications

• Previous Sous Chef experience (required).
• Cook training certification is an asset.
• Food safety certification is an asset (may be obtained upon hire).
• The ability to demonstrate a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff.
• Assist guests at every opportunity.
• Plan and direct food preparation according to resort F&B specifications.
• Follow kitchen systems & principles.
• Promote a safe, sanitized work environment, ensuring highest levels of cleanliness, safety and food storage management.
• Keep the kitchen running smoothly, manage challenges quickly and efficiently.
• Supervise, coach, mentor, lead kitchen staff during working hours.
• Be flexible, versatile, and thrive on working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure the highest level of service and guest experience.
• Provide nonstop teamwork with your teammates and managers.
• Adhere to RCR Policy, Employee Handbook and Safety Management Program.
