Job summary

National Bank is seeking an Application Analyst in Toronto to support our Fixed Income electronic trading platform. You will learn platform workflows, monitor production, investigate incidents, and coordinate resolutions with tech and business teams, while contributing to documentation and automation initiatives.

The role requires strong problem-solving, Linux experience, and the ability to work overnight to cover Hong Kong and London hours.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Comfortable working independently during overnight support hours.

Responsibilities

A career as an Application Analyst means supporting our trading technology support team and becoming a subject matter expert on a Fixed Income (FI) electronic trading platform and providing operational and technical support to traders, business users, and technology partners.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and an interest in financial markets. No prior Fixed Income trading experience is required, but a willingness to learn complex trading workflows and systems is essential.

You’ll begin with a fairly unstructured onboarding and training period (3-5 months) during Eastern Time Zone business hours. Following training, the role transitions to an overnight schedule to support Hong Kong and London hours.

You are part of a team of 7 colleagues in the Electronic Trading sector and will report to the Senior Manager.
