We are currently seeking a Group Leader, Project Engineering who will report to the Manager of Project Engineering and will ensure that project engineering efforts align with customer requirements and company standards.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing the technical requirements for customer sales orders
  • Responsible for delivering the technical documents relating to customer orders on a predefined schedule
  • Review customer technical specifications and reconcile against quoted offer
  • In coordination with design engineering, select suitable valve design, valve trim, and valve configuration to meet customer specifications
  • Review actuator documentation related to sales orders and incorporate relevant information into valve project drawings
  • Supervise the Drafters for the preparation of the project drawings and other technically related documentation
  • Review and approve the drawings released by the engineering project team
  • Serve as the technical liaison between engineering and VPM (Velan Project Management) for projects under your responsibility
  • Prepare document transmittal notices to issue drawings to customers and production plant
  • Interpret, manage and resolve customer comments on return drawings; interact with Detail Design, Sales, Production planning, and quotation as needed to resolve customer technical comments or issues
  • Assist in technical matters in customer meetings
Your profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Member of OIQ or in process to be
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Engineering / Manufacturing industry
  • Experience in interpreting technical comments and specifications
  • Experience in drawing, checking and approval
  • Technical document management
  • Organizational skills & scheduling priorities
  • Materials (especially steels), machining processes and mechanical assembly
  • Design and drafting standards
  • Product and life-cycle data management and configuration control concepts, principles and practices
  • Knowledge of valve industry basic standards (ASME B16.34, B16.5, B16.25, B16.10, API, and more) is an asset
  • Proficiency in 2D / 3D CAD software
  • Actuation (electric, pneumatic and hydraulic)
  • French and English, written and oral (Bilingual)
