Tolko Industries Ltd. in Armstrong, British Columbia is seeking a Certified Welder to join our EcoLogo-certified facility.

You will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and installing metal components for mill infrastructure, following safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates hold a Red Seal Certification with experience in structural fabrication, reading blueprints, and using CMMS (JD Edwards).

Qualifications

• Experience as Welder with a Red Seal Certification is required.
• Certified Pressure welder experience would be asset.
• Commitment to working safely.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) – preferably JD Edwards.
• Fabricator endorsement, millwright experience and forest products environment experience are assets.

Responsibilities

• Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Apply knowledge, experience and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues.
• Complete the lay-out, fitting and fabrication of metal components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, platforms, handrails, machine guarding and piping.
• Repair metal components and infrastructure using gas, arc-air, MIG, TIG and electrode as required.
• Read blueprints and interpret OEM maintenance information to complete work to mill standards.

OurArmstrong Lumber Divisionsafely and sustainably produces234 million board feet every yearforcustomers around the worldso they can build their homes and their communities. Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Experience working as a Welder with a Red Seal Certificationis required.
