Job summary

Tolko Industries Ltd. in Vernon, British Columbia is seeking a Certified Electrician to join our North Okanagan Valley operations.

The role focuses on maintaining electrical equipment and controls to keep our lumber mill running safely and reliably, supporting a sustainable, growing business. The ideal candidate holds an Interprovincial ticket and demonstrates strong problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Interprovincial ticket.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Experience with PLCs and HMI systems.
• Experience with CMMS (JD Edwards).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes.
• Complete preventative maintenance as well as installations and upgrades, working on motors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders.
• Look for opportunities to continuously improve equipment reliability to keep industrial electrical equipment and controls repaired and maintained.
• Carry out maintenance projects and programs.

Today, at Lavington, we safely and sustainably produce 238 million board feet of lumber per year forcustomers around the worldso they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Experience working as anElectricianwith a validInterprovincial ticket.
• Strongtroubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Demonstrated knowledge ofProgrammable Logic Controllers (PLCs)andHuman Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
• Experience withComputerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards.
• Strongcommunicationskills.
• Ability towork independentlyand with a team.
• Experience withMicrosoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.
