Job summary

Olds College of Agriculture & Technology is seeking a friendly waitstaff member to join our dining room team on campus. You will take food and beverage orders, deliver items promptly, and uphold sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, assisting with menu knowledge, coordinating with kitchen staff, handling special requests, and maintaining a clean dining area during and after service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the food services industry.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to get along with others.
• Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly in the dining room; take food and beverages following the steps of service.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards; follow up on guest needs.
• Demonstrate menu knowledge and suggest pairings; accommodate dietary requests and notes preferences.
• Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure correct orders and special requests.
• Address complaints or issues promptly and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure dining room is set up before and after service and kept clean and sanitized.
• Work with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
