Job summary

Pomeroy Lodging operates a casino property seeking a vigilant Surveillance Associate to protect customers, staff and assets by maintaining constant observation of gaming areas and the entire property. You will identify suspicious activities, assist investigations, and ensure logging accuracy.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, potential casino surveillance experience, and the ability to obtain a gaming licence. Flexible hours including evenings and weekends are available.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Casino surveillance experience is an asset.
  • Must obtain/maintain gaming licence requirements.
  • Pass gaming online courses ART L1, ART L2, Privacy Awareness and AML.
  • Serving It Right Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain continuous surveillance of all gaming areas and property.
  • Identify, record, and report unusual or suspicious activities.
  • Identify fraud and take action per law and company policy.
  • Monitor compliance and protect company assets and gaming integrity.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs.
  • Gather information for detailed reporting and assist investigations.
  • Report to Gaming Director of Operations.

Job description

As the eyes of the casino, you will ensure the security of customers, staff, and assets by maintaining continuous surveillance of gaming areas and the entire property. Role & Responsibilities
  • Uses audio and video equipment to maintain continuous surveillance of all gaming areas and property
  • Identifies, records documents and reports unusual or suspicious activities
  • Identifies fraud and takes the appropriate action required by law and company policy
  • Monitors compliance and protect company assets and gaming integrity
  • Maintains detailed and accurate logs
  • Gathers and submits information for detailed reporting
  • Assists with investigations
  • Report to Gaming Director of Operations
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Required
  • Must be 19+
  • Proven to be detail oriented, reliable, punctual, efficient and diligent in duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be self-motivated, be able to multi task, great attention to detail and be well organized
  • Outstanding customer service skills including demonstrated ability to be friendly, efficient, polite and patient
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft word and excel
Experience, Training, Certification, & Education
  • High School Diploma GED Certification or equivalent
  • Casino Surveillance experience is an asset
  • Experience using surveillance equipment and software is an asset
  • Professional knowledge of table games is an asset
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to maintain calm and perform duties in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain gaming licence requirements.
  • Pass gaming online courses, ART L1, ART L2, Privacy Awareness and AML.
  • Serving It Right Certificate.
Working Conditions
  • Busy casino environment with constant loud noise from the radio
  • Ability to work in a dimmed, enclosed and controlled room and in close proximity to colleagues
  • Good close, mid-range and color vision
  • Ability to focus on a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Ability to work under pressure with speed and accuracy and is self-motivated
  • Must be able to work in a confined closed and restricted area for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work with Dust
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
