Job summary

Great Canadian Entertainment's Casino Ajax seeks a full-time Dual Surveillance Supervisor to oversee daily operations, monitor activity, and safeguard assets and guests. You will lead staff, assign duties, brief and monitor performance, and ensure adherence to policies in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, investigations, and reporting skills, with knowledge of security best practices and gaming regulations.

Qualifications

  • Secondary School diploma is required; post-secondary in Law/Security or Criminology is preferred.
  • Experience in Surveillance/Security roles, including supervisory exposure, is valuable.
  • Proven leadership, analytical and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and delegate Surveillance Operators daily tasks and monitor gaming operations.
  • Maintain logs, trackers, and timesheets; prepare reports.
  • Investigate, report, and document irregular or illegal activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulations and internal policies.
  • Provide training and coaching to new team members.
  • Oversee health and safety directives and assist management on projects.

Casino Ajax is seeking a Full-time Dual Surveillance Supervisor! Under the general direction of the Surveillance Manager or designate, this position is responsible for daily on-going monitoring and observation of Casino operations, while ensuring the security and integrity of Casino assets, staff and guests. The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities to govern over a high paced, pressured filled environment. You will be accountable for the staff, assigning duties, briefing/monitoring of employees and overseeing occurrences as they develop. policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

  • Supervising, managing and delegating Surveillance Operators daily tasks, duties and maintain awareness of all gaming operations at all times
  • Communicates effectively and interacts with internal and external customers while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Must be reliable, diligent and maintain a high level of integrity
  • Safeguard confidential information and prevents its improper disclosure or use
  • Investigate, report and document all irregular, unusual, suspicious, or illegal activities
  • Maintains and verifies logs, enter information into trackers and timesheets, prepares and verifies departmental reports
  • Monitors, documents and reports violations, unauthorized access, large cash/cash equivalent transactions, trespassed and self-excluded guests (not limited to)
  • Stores records securely for evidence purposes
  • Monitors and reports on the conditions of Surveillance facilities and equipment; performs preventative maintenance on equipment as required
  • Provides training and coaching to all new team members
  • Assist the management team with projects as needed
  • Ensures health and safety directives are followed and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as directed by Surveillance Manager or designate
  • Ensures compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission regulations and applicable laws and policies
  • Knowledge of Table Games and gaming industry considered an asset
  • Ability to work all shifts (This includes evenings, weekends, and holidays)
  • Responsible for the supervision and performance management of Surveillance Operators.
Qualifications
  • Secondary School diploma, with preference to graduates with a post-secondary education in Law and Security or Criminology
  • A minimum of 1 (one) or more years of Surveillance / Security related fields or gaming related positions, with preference to Supervisory experience of 1 (one) or more years
  • Strong leadership, analytical, observational, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and solution-oriented skills with strong problem-solving, and conflict resolutions skills
  • Knowledge of computer applications – MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • The ability to obtain registration as a category 1 Gaming Assistant (license) with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Work Hours & Schedule
