Job summary

City of Saskatoon is seeking a casual, part-time Cashier/Customer Service worker to manage admissions, register transactions, and support program information at indoor rinks. The role emphasizes accuracy in cash handling and friendly public interaction.

Under supervision, you will process registrations, prepare cash reports, and assist with promotional events while adhering to cash control procedures. Must pass CRC and work up to 12 hours weekly.

Qualifications

  • Grade 10 education.
  • Six months' related cashier and customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of handling cash, and balancing and completing cash reports.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with the public.
  • Ability to make arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately.
  • Skill in the use of an electronic cash register and adding machine.

Responsibilities

  • Collects admissions and sells pass cards. Maintains accurate account of sale transactions.
  • Records all transactions using a pre-programmed cash register.
  • Prepares a daily float and cash report; makes bank deposits.
  • Receives and processes participant registrations.
  • Receives and screens telephone and in-person enquiries and provides program information to customers.
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of facility promotional events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

This position is a CUPE 59 position and will be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Should it not be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, external candidates will be considered.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Recreation Facility Supervisor, this position performs duties related to the collection and security of all admission and course fees in compliance with City cash control procedures at indoor rinks.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collects admissions and sells pass cards. Maintains accurate account of sale transactions.
  • Records all transactions using a pre-programmed cash register.
  • Prepares a daily float and cash report; makes bank deposits.
  • Receives and processes participant registrations.
  • Receives and screens telephone and in-person enquiries and provides program information to customers.
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of facility promotional events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Weekly Hours: Up to 12 hours per week.

Salary Range:$20.13to$22.20CADper hour(2026rates)
