Job summary

Placements24 in Kimberley is seeking a proactive Career Counselor to join the student services team. The role focuses on guiding students as they explore career options, develop career management skills, and prepare for the transition from education to the workforce.

You will deliver personalized counseling, facilitate workshops on labor market trends and networking, and connect students with internships and resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in career counseling, coaching, or advisory roles.
  • Strong knowledge of career development theories and local job markets.
  • Excellent active listening and communication skills; proficiency with career assessment tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual counseling sessions to assess interests, skills, values, and career goals.
  • Provide guidance on career exploration, job searching strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation.
  • Develop and deliver workshops on career development topics, including labor market trends and networking.
  • Maintain and update resources on career paths, educational programs, and internships.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and supportive Career Counselor to join their student services department in Kimberley . This role is dedicated to assisting students in exploring career options, developing career management skills, and preparing for the transition from education to the workforce. You will provide personalized guidance, facilitate workshops, and connect students with relevant resources and opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of the job market, and a passion for empowering individuals to achieve their career aspirations within Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual counseling sessions to assess student interests, skills, values, and career goals.
