Job summary

Nurse Next Door in Hamilton, Ontario is hiring caregivers to provide in-home care, companionship, meal preparation and light housekeeping. You will execute care plans, ensure client safety, and document care activities while serving the Hamilton, Stoney Creek and Grimsby regions.

The role requires prior caregiving experience, English communication skills, a TB screen and background check, a PSW certificate or nursing background, and a valid driver’s license. Vehicle access is an asset.

Qualifications

• Must have previous caregiving experience.
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship and personal care.
• Follow the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Ensure safety and proper use of equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Serve Hamilton, Stoney Creek and Grimsby areas; accommodate various visit times including weekends.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, and/or provide companionship and personal care
• Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer
• Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly
• Function within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently within the job description
• Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
• Service in the Hamilton, Stoney Creek and Grimsby area
• Looking for all visit times weekdays and weekends

Requirements

• Previous caregiving experience
• Must be able to community verbally and in writing in English, other languages are an asset
• Current TB Screen and Criminal Record Check
• Must be able to legally work in Canada to apply for this position
• Valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate OR Nursing background (RPN, RN, or internationally trained nurse)
• Valid driver’s license is required, vehicle will be an asset
