Job summary

Northern College in Ontario seeks a Manager, Facilities and Maintenance to lead a team responsible for the operation and upkeep of the College's four campuses. The role includes directing day-to-day facilities work, planning capital and noncapital projects, and ensuring service levels align with institutional needs.

The successful candidate will have a two-year diploma in a relevant field, at least five years in general operations, and demonstrable experience managing staff, consultants, PMs,

Qualifications

• Two year diploma in architectural, mechanical, civil, or electrical specialties or related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in general operations.
• Experience in managing staff, outside consultants, PMs, and contractors on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational and maintenance work and noncapital projects at all four campuses.
• Plan, organize, direct and control project planning within Plant and Property Department.
• Prepare department operating budget and manage within annual allocation.
• Provide direction to plant and property team on operations, repairs and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for property maintenance, moves, renovations and records.
• Oversee leased properties, negotiate terms, and flag renewals.
