Job summary

Northern College is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled tasks across buildings and grounds, including routine upkeep and repairs. You will operate grass mowing machines, snow removal equipment, install locks, paint, and move supplies.

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities and Maintenance, the General Maintenance Worker will perform semi-skilled tasks associated with one or more of the skilled trade.

What You Will Be Doing

• Operate grass mowing machines and snow removal equipment;
• Perform daily minor repairs of a semi-skilled nature to buildings and grounds;
• Perform general maintenance tasks such as building cupboards, installing locks, notice boards, painting etc.;
• Undertake minor repairs to equipment; and
• Assist in moving supplies and furniture.

What You Will Need To Be Considered

• Completion of secondary school education, or equivalent; and
• Three (3) years of practical experience in a related field.

The successful candidate will have the ability to apply advanced reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
