Job summary

Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager for Cumberland Campus in Springhill, NS. The role reports to the Facilities Manager and oversees daily campus operations, including building, equipment, grounds, safety, and security, with a focus on cost-effective maintenance and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong facilities background, five years of leadership experience, and knowledge of Megamation, building operations, and procurement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in facilities maintenance or building operations.
• Experience in Facility Management is an asset.
• Experience with construction of industrial facilities and commissioning is an asset.
• Proficient with computer applications including email and Office suite.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety policy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Cumberland Campus.
• Manage building operations, equipment, grounds, safety, cleanliness, and security.
• Supervise unionized custodial staff and provide leadership in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
• Ensure equipment maintenance aligns with OEM guidelines and internal processes (Megamation).
• Enter equipment details into Megamation accurately with Facilities Manager guidance.
