Department Overview

The Business Banking Divisional Office is an energized team responsible for delivering strategic leadership and capabilities for the Better Business Bank of today and tomorrow. The Client and Colleague Engagement Strategy team supports Better Business Bankers and supports a caring performance culture while having fun doing so! The Sales team supports sales strategy, client experience, sales effectiveness, and partner management. Our Engagement team is responsible for Colleague and Client Engagement for all Business Banking channels.

Business Banking, Banker Confidence (Education Delivery Specialist)

will be responsible to build and deliver a strong and consistent foundation for onboarding and upskilling our customer‑facing Business Banking colleagues.

In addition, the Manager will be responsible for:
  • Lead designing, planning and delivery work to support the onboarding and education for the Customer Service Officers (CSO), Cash Management Service Officers (CMSO), and Managers, Cash Management (MCM).
  • Assist in curriculum review and L&D planning to support optimal training; partnering with L&D as appropriate
  • Advise on the direction of the programs constantly identifying enhancements, innovations, risks and opportunities
  • Present to senior leaders within Business Banking on programs including successes and opportunities
  • Create, lead and have oversight of events related to the programs (eg. townhalls)
  • Champion and promote the education programs for Business Banking
  • Stay abreast of current business and role needs and changes to ensure that the content to educate remains relevant.
  • Support the other leaders on Banker Confidence team as needed to ensure that the delivery of all programming across the team is successful.
Job Requirements

The ideal candidate demonstrates success with the following experiences:

  • Passion for helping Business Bankers succeed: The purpose of the team is to help build Business Banker's confidence. Success in this role would be difficult without passion for this purpose.
  • Ability to act like an owner: Self‑starter, resourceful, a strong problem‑solver, and able to navigate ambiguous situations. The successful candidate must treat all their initiatives as though they are their own.
  • Excellent research and written communication skills: Must conduct research for and create several types of resources from scratch, such as job aids, training documents, etc.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to create and deliver Power Point presentations with crisp, organized content.
  • Driving and delivering strategy: The successful candidate will need to own and drive the segmentation strategy and continue to assess and improve the rules of the model.
  • Proficiency in presenting to groups of all sizes: Among other presentations, in this role you would be required to assist with the delivery of virtual onboarding sessions to groups as large as 200 partners every quarter.
  • Strong organizational skills: The Banker Confidence team has many projects on the go at any given time. The Business Program Specialist requires solid organizational skills, including the ability to create and adhere to high‑level project plans for each project they manage.
  • Strong relationship management skills: This job involves connecting and working with colleagues all over TDBG and with suppliers/vendors and, therefore, requires strong relationship management skills, as well as the ability to influence without authority. The Banker Confidence team is mighty but small and, as such, it is also critical that the Business Program Specialist not only be able to work independently but also be a team‑player who can collaborate with the rest of the team.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Banking: The successful candidate should have a solid understanding of Business Banking's organizational structure, as well as its processes and procedures.
  • Prior experience in customer‑facing Business Banking role: Prior experience in a customer‑facing role in Commercial, Small Business, or another group within Business Banking would be considered an asset.
