Job summary

Active Start Child Care in Edmonton is seeking a Bus Driver for the Out of School Care program at Harvest Hills. The ideal candidate holds a Class 1 or 2 license with an S endorsement and a clean driving record, with willingness to obtain Alberta Child Care certification if needed.

Responsibilities include transporting groups of children to and from school, supervising during pickups and drop-offs, and ensuring safety and positive interactions with children, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have Class 1 or 2 driver’s license with an S endorsement to operate the bus
• Prior childcare or daycare experience is an asset
• Level 1/2/3 Alberta Child Care Certification obtained or willingness to enroll
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

About the Role

We are currently looking for a Bus Driver for our Out of School Care program at our Harvest Hills location in Edmonton. We are looking for someone that has had prior experience driving a school or daycare bus, or a daycare Bus. Candidates must currently have a Class 2 driver’s license with an “S” endorsement to drive the Bus. Someone with their Level 1, 2, or 3 Alberta Child Care Certification already obtained would be an asset. (or someone who is willing to obtain it).

A successful candidate would have good driving skills, experience driving children and a clean driver’s abstract. This person must be highly motivated, adaptable, and fluent in English, as well as work well with children. A successful candidate would display professionalism and be responsible. This person must have a current criminal record check and first aid certification or be willing to obtain these items upon being hired.

Key Responsibilities
