Job summary

Meadow Lake Housing Authority in Meadow Lake, SK is seeking a permanent, full-time Building Services, Level 2 worker to maintain housing units and perform minor repairs.

You will handle routine maintenance, inventory controls, janitorial duties, and groundskeeping including snow removal, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly and confidentiality.

The role requires Grade 12, on-call availability for emergencies, a valid driver’s license and a Vulnerable Sector check; teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent required.
• On-call availability for emergencies (evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Valid driver’s license and a valid Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) criminal record check required.
• Ability to work with management, staff and tenants and maintain confidentiality.

The Position

• Ensure housing units are rent ready by undertaking building maintenance and minor repairs
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks and inventory controls
• Assist with garbage removal and janitorial duties
• Groundskeeping, including grass cutting and snow removal

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Moderate knowledge of the basic techniques in a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, flooring, and electrical
• Experience repairing building mechanical equipment, custodial, and maintenance work
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, staff, and tenants
• Ensure day-to-day operations are handled promptly and effectively
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education, basic computer skills, supplemented with some experience in a maintenance and repair environment OR an equivalent combination is required
• Ability to participate in a regular, continuous on call program for emergencies, including evening, weekend, and holiday coverage
• A valid drivers license, reliable, roadworthy vehicle, and an approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) criminal record check are conditions of employment
