Job summary

The La Ronge Regional Housing Authority in Stony Rapids is seeking a permanent, part-time Building Services Worker to join the team. You will deliver building maintenance services and repairs, handle unit turnover work, and perform groundskeeping while maintaining equipment and inventory.

Applicants should have Grade 12, basic computer skills, and trades training with hands-on maintenance experience, plus a valid driver’s license and willingness to participate in on-call emergencies.

Application Information

The La Ronge Regional Housing Authority is currently looking for a permanent, part-time (20 hours per week) Building Services Worker to join their team in Stony Rapids!

The Position:

• Deliver building maintenance services and repairs
• Unit turnover repairs
• Groundskeeping, and maintaining housing authority equipment and inventory
• Record keeping, such as inventory and purchase orders, etc.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Knowledge of the basic techniques employed in a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, flooring, and electrical
• Experience servicing and repairing building mechanical equipment
• Ability to use hand and power tools and lift heavy loads
• Knowledge in the trades including carpentry, plumbing, heating, mechanical, painting, electrical, and groundskeeping work

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 education, basic computer skills, training in the trades along with hands on experience in a maintenance and repair OR an equivalent combination is required.
• Self-motivated with the ability to handle stress, while prioritizing workloads and respecting peoples diversity and individual differences
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to participate in an on call program for emergencies for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage
• A valid drivers license, reliable, roadworthy vehicle, and an approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) criminal record check are conditions of employment
