Job summary

Paladin Security at Toronto Eaton Centre is seeking a part-time Security Guard to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, visitors and staff. Join a professional team at a landmark property and respond to a variety of security situations in a fast-paced retail setting.

Key duties include patrolling interior and exterior areas, verifying IDs, monitoring CCTV, guiding guests, enforcing rules, supporting emergencies, and coordinating with management.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario security license.
• First Aid & CPR Level C from WSIB-approved provider.
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Post-secondary education in a related field would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols interior and exterior (including parking) to ensure safety.
• Verify IDs and manage visitor/vendor entry to restricted areas.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms and access control systems to detect incidents.
• Respond to incidents, alarms or emergencies and coordinate with management.

Job Description

Join the security team at Toronto Eaton Centre, one of North America's busiest shopping destinations. We are looking for experienced security professionals who can provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, visitors, and staff.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, respond to a variety of security situations, and be part of a professional team at a landmark property.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols of the property (interior and exterior), including parking areas, entrances, and common spaces, to ensure safety andidentifyany security risks or hazards
• Monitor and control access to the building by verifying IDs, managing visitor/vendor entry, and ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas
• Observe site activity andmonitorCCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems to detect suspicious behavior or incidents
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, emergencies, or disturbances, and expedite to emergency services or management whenrequired.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other unauthorized activities.
• Provide customer service support byassistingtenants, employees, and visitors with directions, inquiries, and general site support.
• Enforce property rules, safety procedures, and company policies tomaintainorder anda secureenvironment.
• Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, first aid response, and coordination with first responders whenrequired.
• Conduct routine inspections of doors, locks, gates, and lighting to ensure the property is secure andreportmaintenance or safety concerns.
• Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of theclient.

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• Strong communicationskills and an upbeat, professional attitude
• Prior experience in security and/or post-secondary education in a related field would be considered an asset
• Applicants who do notpossessthese certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)certificationprogram prior to their onboardingtrainingto ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Please be aware: The UOF/MOABcertificationis not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of thecertificationswith a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
