Responsibilities

• Plan and implement shift work schedules and ensure completion of daily activities.
• Motivate staff and issue commendations; document disciplinary actions and relay to head office.
• Perform security audits; document and investigate incidents and complaints.
• Communicate concerns to the Client Service Manager.

Scarborough Health Network - Full Time Security Supervisor

Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is shaping the future of care, designing a more integrated healthcare system for one of Canada’s most diverse communities. Position: Full-Time Security Supervisor

Site: Scarborough Health Network, 3050 Lawrence Avenue East and 3030 Birchmount Road, Scarborough

Averaging Agreement : Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Working on assigned shifts, you will work full time shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents
• You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner
• You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance
• In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time. This position is a high-caliber position
• Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training
• Ensures all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shift
• Ensures site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and hospital security policies and procedures
• Plans and implements shift work schedules
• Ensures all Security Officers have received the mandatory training
• Motivates staff and issues commendations
• Disciplines staff when necessary and ensures proper documentation is passed onto head office
• Performs security audits
• Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
• Communicates any concerns/issues with Client Service Manager

Requirements:

• At least 2 years healthcare security experience in a team lead role
• Minimum of one year of experience in a Healthcare security role is required
• Post Secondary education in a law enforcement/security program from a recognized college
• Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
• International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) certificate
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
• Proficient in English (both oral/written)
• Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, covid-19, TB skin tests 1 and 2)
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
• Able to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95 mask fit test
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Education Requirements (All)

Post secondary education in law enforcement from a recognized institution or equivalent experience is an asset
Post-secondary education in a law enforcement/security program from a recognized college
Minimum of a Police Foundations Diploma
