Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa, part of the Accor family, is seeking a friendly server to deliver engaging service and assist guests with menu inquiries. You will uphold outlet standards, stay knowledgeable on beverages and menu items, and adhere to safety and sanitation policies.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of server experience, fluent English and French, and a Smart Serve certification, plus strong communication and teamwork skills. This is a full-time, on-site role.

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Leadership, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
• Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Other duties as assigned

• Previous customer service experience required
• 1-2 years server experience in a similar environment
• Previous point of sale system experience an asset, but not required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Fluent in both official languages required
• Smart Serve Certification required
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Passing grade on the written recruitment server exam

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
