Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a Guest Services Agent to provide outstanding service to our guests and greet, check in and settle guest accounts. You will work under the Front Desk Manager and Guest Services Manager, be a key member of our crisis team, and participate in daily duties with a focus on accuracy and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and French is required.
• Experience at a Front Desk in hospitality or similar environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle cash accurately and efficiently.
• Strong guest-service orientation and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding service to our internal and external guests.
• Assist with tour check-ins and greet the tour guide and groups when required.
• Generate reports for other departments in the hotel.
• Be a key member of the crisis & emergency team.
• Register and checkout hotel guests.
• Act as an ambassador of Fairmont Château Laurier.
• Greet, check in and settle guest accounts while ensuring all service standards are followed.
• Assist Leadership in performing daily duties.
• Available evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Available to work overnight shift, when required.
• Follow all safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Reporting to the Front Desk Manager and Guest Services Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide outstanding service to our internal and external guests
• Assist with tour check-ins and greet the tour guide and groups when required

Qualifications

• Fluent in both official languages (English and French) is a requirement
• Previous Front Desk Agent experience in a similar environment
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Must have the ability to handle cash effectively and accurately
• Computer literate with exposure to Opera, Property Manager and Delphi, Word and Excel is preferable
• Active listener, self-starter
• Able to make decisions and take initiative
• Ability to type 40 words per minute
• Positive and pleasant attitude
• Able to work alone
• Strong team player
• Detail oriented
• Must be able to work in a very busy environment
